You already have decided that a dumpster is the best for your project but what size rental dumpster is best for your project?
Some things that you will want to consider when choosing a rental dumpster are the type of debris, amount of debris and the price. Heavy materials such as dirt, concrete or roofing material are likely to add a lot of weight to your dumpster and will likely result in extra fees for exceeding the tonnage capacity. One ton is equal to 2000lbs or roughly the weight of 10 washing machines.
If you have a small amount of debris then a smaller dumpster size may be best for you. If you have a large project or heavy material that you need to get rid of then a larger dumpster may be best. Hart & Son Inc. offers rental dumpsters in a wide range of sizes to meet your project needs. Our rental dumpster sizes range from 8-40 cubic yards. But what really is a cubic yard?
A cubic yard is a 3 dimensional shape that measures volume. It is a 3’ x 3’ x 3’ space that is much like the size of a washing machine. You also can multiple the cubic yards by 27 (3x3x3) to measure the square footage. Example 20 cubic yards x 27= 540 sq ft. So a 20 cubic yard dumpster can fit approximately 540 sq ft of debris or roughly 20 washing machines.

One other thing you may want to consider is dumpster placement. Are you going to have the rental dumpster in your driveway, tight alley way or on your street. If you are limited in space then a larger dumpster may not fit at your location. Make sure the area for the dumpster placement is flat, level and dry. See below for the dimensions of our dumpsters.
